Need help preparing for your first visit to CAMHS?

CAMHS Ready is a tool developed by North Staffordshire NHS Trust that helps young people and their families to get ready for their first visit.

It gives young people experiencing difficulties with their thoughts, feelings, or behaviour simple advice about what CAMHS is and how it works.

CAMHS Ready also helps young people plan what they want to say at their first CAMHS appointment by helping them explore topics linked to thoughts and feelings, and then make their own checklist of priorities.

> CLIC Sargent Social Work Team

The CLIC Sargent Social Work Team can offer social, emotional and practical support to help minimise the impact of the illness and treatment. It works only with children, young people, and adults under the age of 25. As well as providing individual support to patients and their families the team runs a variety of group events for patients and family members.

If you are under 25 years old and need hospital treatment during an important time in your education, for example when you are studying for exams, you can contact the CLIC Sargent social work team. Together with the hospital school staff they can provide advice and information as well as liaise with schools or colleges on your behalf. Any pupil or student on treatment is entitled to 'special consideration'.

Outreach and Support OASIS (Croydon)

OASIS is a health service for young people aged 14-35, who are experiencing psychological distress. It provides care for people living in the London boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon. OASIS offer individual and family therapy, medical consultation, and practical support with issues such as housing and finances.
