Many young people who care for someone in their family or home don't realise they are a young carer. If you help someone with things like shopping, cooking, managing money, or offering emotional support, you're already doing something really important — and you deserve support too.
Caring for someone can affect your health, social life, and education. Our free Young Carers Service is here to make sure you don't have to manage it all on your own.
If you are aged 5–25, live in Croydon, and care for someone with a physical disability, mental health condition, long-term illness, learning difficulty, or substance dependency, we are here for you.
Whether you're a young person, a parent, or a professional — anyone can contact us to find out more or make a referral.
Call us on +44 7522 046 395 or email youngcarers@talkofftherecord.org
When you get in touch, we can offer you a Young Carers Assessment. This helps us understand your situation, share what activities and support are available, and find out what would be most helpful for you.
If you're looking to refer a young carer, you may also find this document helpful — it includes guidance on identifying and supporting young carers in your school.
