Do You Know a Young Person Who Has Been Affected by Youth Violence?
The CHRIS team provides free, confidential support to young people in Croydon aged 14–25 who have been impacted by Serious Youth Violence (SYV).
Who We Can Support
To access the service, a young person must:
- Live, work, study, or be registered with a GP in Croydon
- Be suitable for talking therapy (no current psychosis)
- Be willing to engage with support and open to making positive changes in their life
- Have been affected by Serious Youth Violence — this includes young people who have witnessed SYV, lost someone to SYV, survived SYV, or who have perpetrated SYV
What to Expect After Referral
- Contact within 48 hours of referral (excluding weekends)
- An assessment appointment within two weeks
- Weekly check-in calls or texts whilst awaiting assessment or support
Counselling Support
- Access to our telephone support line, available five days a week
- Flexible support — available by phone, video call, or face-to-face, in our buildings or out in the community
- A flexible number of sessions, tailored to the young person's needs
